The Marine Corps Regional Contracting Office located in Twentynine Palms, CA (RCO-29 Palms) is seeking qualified sources for information and planning purposes only.  It is not to be construed as commitment by the government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.  The purpose of this request for information is to gain knowledge of commercially available services that may be of interest to the RCO-29 Palms.  Responses are voluntary and the Government will not reimbursement respondents for any expenses associated with their participation to this request, nor any subsequent exchanges.

RCO-29 Palms is performing market research to determine available sources that can provide:

The Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC)/ Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms is a vast training center located in the lower Mojave Desert, approximately 70 miles north of Palms Springs.  The installation is primarily utilized for desert war fighting training, and contains numerous ranges covering approximately 801,920 acres where military exercises are held at varying times throughout the year.  Many of the ranges are accessible by rough terrain, requiring the use of 4×4 vehicles.  MCAGCC employs All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) of various manufacturers to survey training, provide security and to maintain ranges.

There are several units aboard MCAGCC that utilize the ATVs.  They are Range Training and Maintenance Section (RTAMS), Tactical Training Exercise Control Group (TTECG), Provost Marshalls Office (PMO), Ground Electronics Maintenance Branch (GEMB), Public Affairs Office (PAO), Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), Center Magazine Area (CMA), Exercise Logistics Control Center (ELCC), and other tenant organizations/commands.

136: Travis Mack – How He Pulled Off A Multi Million Dollar Company Acquisition

Prior to doing the podcast, I met Travis at dinner in Las Olas through a mutual friend Patrick Cohen. Travis recently arrived here in S. Florida and had plans for connecting good people in business together. He wanted a community in S. Florida that would connect finance, developers and entrepreneurs in the same room. A few months later I attended the event sponsored by his company and since that time we’ve exchanged numerous texts, calls and emails back and forth discussing various business deals, partnerships and team members.

But strangely enough it would be another few months before I could get him on the podcast. At the time his company Saalex was in the middle of an acquisition and he didn’t want to say anything that would jeopardize the deal.

On April 4, 2022 the news hit that his company Saalex acquired Rhode Island based Netsimco in a $30 million transaction and so now we would be able to sit down and have a conversation.

As per the article The company’s acquisition of Netsimco will allow it to reach annual recurring revenue of $100 million. For context, Saalex CFO Randy Wheeler said the company generated about $5 million in revenue in 2010, and has shown “consistent growth” to reach the $100 million mark.

Saalex Corporation is an Engineering and Information Technology Services firm with core capabilities in the areas of Test Range Operations and Management, Information Technology, Test and Evaluation, Logistics and Engineering Services, founded in 1999 by CEO Travis Mack.

More recently Managed security service provider (MSSP) Valeo Networks of which Mr. Mack is the CEO  acquired Next IT, a Michigan-based managed service provider (MSP). The deal marks the sixth and largest acquisition for Valeo Networks and is part of the company’s overall growth strategy. The company previously acquired On Time Tech, a California-based MSP, in November 2021.

L-3 Communications Integrated Systems awarded a not-to-exceed $27M for the development, delivery and installation of one MC-55A flight simulator.

L-3 Communications Integrated Systems, Greenville, Texas, has been awarded a not-to-exceed $27,000,000 firm-fixed-price, undefinitized contract for the development, delivery and installation of one MC-55A flight simulator. Work will be performed in Greenville, Texas, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2023. This contract involves 100% Foreign Military Sales and is the result of a sole-source acquisition.
